Tending Three Magpies
Compassionate, person-centred support at the end of life, in death and with grief
Compassionate, person-centred support at the end of life, in death and with grief
Hello I’m Karen (she/her) and I work in Sunderland, Gateshead, South Tyneside and County Durham in the North East of England.
My work involves me offering support to people of all ages from different backgrounds who may be wanting to do some thinking about the end of life, those who are approaching the end of their life, those who are bereaved and people experiencing grief.
My work is organised into four themes:
Everyone I work with is at a different stage in their life. I find out what is important to them and the type of support they might want.
I work with people of all ages who want support to think about, plan and talk about their end of life wishes.
I work alongside people approaching the end of their life and those around them to provide emotional and practical support. My work focuses on supporting people to feel in control at the end of their life, to have their wishes known and respected, and to retain a sense of autonomy.
I support people who are experiencing all kinds of grief and bereavement to find ways to heal.
I can offer support to people of all ages from different backgrounds, and I also have some lived experience and specialist knowledge and skills to meet the needs of different communities:
I am happy to have a free, introductory conversation to help you decide if we could work well together.

There is a bit of a story as to why I call my work Tending Three Magpies. You can read about it here.
